About the Devil’s Den

Devil’s Den is a pristine 50 foot deep sinkhole located in the small town of Williston, Florida. The sinkhole is privately owned and used as a diving and snorkeling site. Devil’s Den is one of the most prehistoric places in North America.

It’s called Devil’s Den because when it was first encountered by settlers in the past, steam rose from the chimney opening over the water on cold winter mornings.

The water in this natural spring is 72ºF all year round and has crystal clear water. Beneath the surface of the water, guests can see ancient rock formations, fossil beds that are 33 million years old and older dating back to prehistoric times.
